I know I've told you guys about this cookbook that Aaron and I are working through, but I wanted to do a formal post about it because I really like it. So far, we have made 32 recipes from this book. The majority of the recipes are very easy to make. It doesn't really require any crazy ingredients, but we've had to buy a lot of different things because we've never done much asian cooking and there are a couple asian recipes in the book. As far as the nutrition values, the recipes range from around 3-10 weightwatchers points. The portion sizes are generally pretty small and I usually have enough points left to eat a double portion and still stay within my daily points allowance.
Some of our favorite recipes:
* Penne alla "Not-ka"
* Chicken tenders
* Spinach and Mushroom Lasagna
* Mini Turkey Meatloaves
* Turkey Chili Crunch
* Shrimp Tacos

Thanks for this book review! I'll definitely have to get this book - especially if the recipes are very easy. I am having issues with having time or a reason to cook since Scott and I are on completely opposite schedules! I get home from work around 6:30ish and am starving... he has just woke up a little bit ago and isn't hungry... I eat something before the gym... we don't get home til later and then I'm not hungry and there's really no time or reason to cook a meal then he leaves for work. AH! I'm hoping that we get on a normal schedule soon.
ReplyDeleteThat cookbook sounds awesome. I will have to check out it. I never did get that Do it Delicious cookbook. I went to Target to get it but bought shorts and a new bathing suit instead. HAHA! I really like these kinds of cookbooks. Ali how is WW going, i like there diet plan. I think it really works. Annie I know what you mean, its hard to have the ambition to cook for just yourself. I always eat either cereal, scrambled eggs or toasted cheese lol. its easy and they are my faves.
ReplyDeleteWW is going fine. When I follow the plan I lose weight, but sometimes I get so tempted! I'd say I'm at about 60% following the plan and 40% giving in to temptation. My "biggest loser" daily e-mail today says you should strive to live 80% toward your goals while giving yourself 20% slack. I'm going to really try to live this way now. My goal is to lose 28 lbs by the wedding. This is completely doable because it's only slightly less than 2 lbs per week. My first goal is 8 lbs by Spring break (April 4). I know it'll mess with the alterations on my dress, but I just really need to get my ass in gear. I'm so out of shape and I hate it! I just don't feel good and I've been in limbo for like a year now it's time to just buckle down and do it.
ReplyDeleteI am really impressed! I know you can do it!! It will be so much easier to go outside and walk or be active once it's nice out!!
ReplyDeleteHow's the Y workout?
The y workout is going really well! She kicks my butt every class but I'm definitely getting in better shape and I'm pretty sure at one time or another every muscle in my body has been sore. That must mean it's working.
